Security

A wide range of security measures have been installed throughout the building including electronic access control, a state of the art digital CCTV system monitoring every public area 24 hours a day. Nurse call and general assistance buttons are available in the treatment room and all toilets if you need assistance while waiting or undergoing treatment. Most security features we can not disclose, but suffice to say, it has never been safer to attend the doctor with your family, young or old, day or night.

Information Technology

Westcare embraces all aspects of computer based information management and will continue to develop its systems with a heavy IT emphasis. All patient records are now stored digitally in a dedicated patient file using a program called ‘Medical Director’. This program is used nationwide by over 85% of all general practices. This centralised system allows patients to utilise GP Super and Doctor Plus simultaneously during their treatment and not have the worry of transferring medical records. Doctors have access to all medical information for patients across the two practices.

Any paper records we receive are scanned into your history as image files along with any digital photography we may utilise. All diagnostic test results such as those received from pathology labs and radiology services are also received and stored electronically. All appointments, billing and receipting are made using a program called ‘PracSoft’ which again, is used by the vast majority of all general practices. Your invaluable medical information is kept secure and safe at all times with back-ups made daily on multiple levels. Our progressive stance on electronic information management means that the service we provide will always be fast, efficient and reliable.
